Does anyone play the lottery?

I've been hitting a rough patch lately. Not so much with football because I've been doing well there, but basketball has been kicking my ass especially of late with a number of teams failing to cover spreads by 1 or 2 points. So anyways, I've been thinking of playing the lottery. The national lottery (6/49) has a jackpot of $33 million for tomorrow's drawing which might not be much compared to Powerball or other lotteries in the USA, but it is a huge amount of money by our standards since there aren't as many people up here. Anyways, I'm thinking that if I keep playing the same 6 numbers every week, it could eventually get me somewhere.

Long story short, I'm just curious as to who plays the lottery.

Nope. No casinos either.

All that money goes to Mississippi, Louisiana, and Missouri.

They do, however, have a horse track just down the street from me.

I guess that technically counts as a casino, they have slot machines in there.

You're allowed to bet on Horses in Arkansas, and you can play BINGO, but they don't allow casinos* or a state lottery. (At least not yet, that finally passed)

* - Oaklawn Jockey Club doesn't count as a casino. Don't mind the slot machines or the betting on horses. Nothing to see here, move along.

Right on. I guess I was thinking of Mississippi. I must have seen a 1000 billboards for Tunica(?) while driving through Arkansas. Horse betting gives you better odds at winning money so that's a plus

There's 1,000 billboards in Arkansas because they know nobody can go to casinos here so they're advertising here for their casinos so all our residents can go give their money to Mississippi.

I play scratch offs but rarely do the number drawing thing, even though lately I've been having this "What if I won the lottery.." sentiment.

DK, what are you using for a sportsbetting service, if you mind giving it up?
I try to stay away from Proline for the obvious reasons, but it keeps drawing me back, cause I can't find a good service.

I play 6/49 or Super 7 only when the jackpot is over 25 million.

I have an account at dcsc.com. I used to play on Bowmans, but their 10-cent lines really sucks. You want to stay away from Pro Line because it's strictly parlays and their payouts are a joke (they tend to take a 40-cent juice which is ridiculous).
