Comparing schools to heath care is like apples and oranges.
Though there are a lot of similarities, the ability to intersect and intervene in child care, and child development is at a higher priority. At the young age, we have a number of people come through, with evaluations and meetings for all childern, be they special needs or not. Though I don't work in a hospital, I can think that there are less people coming through all the time, and the need to intervene is at a lower level.

Take a look at whatever the government runs and youll see the same thing. Inefficiency, Red Tape, and bull crap. Roads is about the only thing I'd leave with the government because roads would be the one thing that I would trust the government to keep properly maintained over private sector. Everywhere government health care has been tried has found out that its like 10x as expensive, 10x as much red tape, and 10x bigger messes. Theres a reason why European countries and Canada offer "medical vacations" to places like India, US, etc for treatments.
