They had their chance in the BE tournament, and they lost, therefore they didn't deserve to be in, if you win enough games, you get in, then you deserve it. Syracuse didn't win enough games or win the BE tournament and therefore didn't deserve to make it.
Re: My college beat Kansas in overtime!
They beat UConn in the BE Tourney. They lost in the 2nd round. The vast majority of people said that Cuse needed one BE Tourney win. They got that. The vast majority picked us as a 10-12 seed on selection sunday. Then, the committee got it wrong. Look back, we were better than at least 3 teams that got in. Easy.
Re: My college beat Kansas in overtime!
Yes they beat a unranked UCONN team then lost to who in the BE chapionship??
Re: My college beat Kansas in overtime!
Notre Dame. The point is that Syracuse STILL deserved to go to the Tourney that year. Find me ONE reason to believe otherwise.
Re: My college beat Kansas in overtime!
Fact remains they still weren't better than ND. All I care about in regards to this discussion.
Re: My college beat Kansas in overtime!
We had a better record in 2006-2007 than the following Tourney teams:
Arkansas
Texas Tech
Arizona
Georgia Tech
Purdue
Stanford
Indiana
and we would have been a better at large team than Old Dominion
So, if you finally relent that we deserved to be in the tourney....then even if we lost in the first round, we were JUST AS SUCCESSFUL as ND in 2006-2007. My point exactly.

In 2004-2005, Notre Dame was 17-12 and lost in the first round of the NIT. Syracuse was 27-7 and lost in the first round of the NCAA Tourney.

In 2007-2008, Notre Dame was 25-8 and lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA tourney. Syracuse was 21-14 and lost in the 3rd round of the NIT.
Now, last year, ND was much better. In 2006-2007, ND was better but not by much. For the 3 years before that, Syracuse was better EVERY SINGLE YEAR. And do I need to mention 2002-2003? I think not. As a whole, over the last 5 or 6 years, Syracuse has been as good or better.
In 03-04 ESPN said ND got robbed and the same in 2005-2006, even with the record cause they lost to 6 ranked opponets by 2 pts or less including 4 2-OT games, so if you want to complain about 06-07 we get those 2 years too
Re: My college beat Kansas in overtime!
ND was 2-0 vs SU that year. Please stop. You're embarrassing yourself on this one.

The reason you didn't get in is because you didn't play a game outside New York til the end of December, when your non-conf is that bad you have to do extremely well in conference to make it, and they didn't.

Difference is you were only 2 games better than us in 06-07. We were 5 better than you in 03-04 and 05-06.

Ok? The Mets were 11-7 against the Phillies this year. Which team was more successful?

They were 10-6 in one of the best conferences in the country, only one game worse than ND did. What do they have to do, go undefeated?

Yes when MLB has a 62 game playoff then you can have a point, but unfortunately for your argument they do not. And by your lame argument, ND was still better because they actually got farther than Syracuse. Again, please stop. You cannot win this argument.

It is pointless to go as far back as 03-04. That's like going back five years and saying Omar Vizquel is good all around SS NOW.

No, they just had to beat ND:laugh:

When you don't leave the state til Jan. 11th and don't play a road game til then either, only play 1 top 60 team in the non-conf, you better be getting 12-13 wins (just like Kentucky had to do last year)
