    Funny Facebook: The Movie?

    Aaron Sorkin Writing Facebook Movie
Source: Aaron Sorkin August 28, 2008

Writer/producer Aaron Sorkin has announced on his newly-created Facebook page that he is going to be writing a movie about the popular social networking site.

"I've just agreed to write a movie for Sony and producer Scott Rudin about how Facebook was invented. I figured a good first step in my preparation would be finding out what Facebook is, so I've started this page. (Actually it was started by my researcher, Ian Reichbach, because my grandmother has more Internet savvy than I do and she's been dead for 33 years.)"

Mark Zuckenberg created the site in 2004 at Harvard during his sophomore year. It now has over 60 million members and is valued at $16 billion.

Sorkin wrote A Few Good Men, The American President, Malice, Charlie Wilson's War and The Trial of the Chicago 7, which is in pre-production according to him. He's also known for TV series "Sports Night," "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" and "The West Wing."

This seems like a movie headed straight to DVD.

No, wait, straight to YouTube. In four parts.

So, I wonder if any of it will be Zuckerberg ripping off his fellow student's technology and claiming it as his own.

Zuckerberg grew up in my town.

    I know his sister.

I highly doubt he "ripped off" his fellows...I imagine that they had not been able to progress further with the site and they asked him if he'd do it.

I am not saying he did, but these types of stories with dotcoms is something I follow and I've read enough articles and seen enough shows (well, a few) that does make it suspect. It's something I don't think anyone could ever know one way or the other with certainty.

The big action scene will be... when they first introduced corny applications such as "top friends" and "send a gift" !
