    Scarface miniseries

    I moved this post from River's 4400 thread.

    Speaking of the USA network, the "Scarface" miniseries was supposed to be in the works since last year. It's supposed to have been completed last fall and making its debut sometime this year. So far, nothing has been recently mentioned. IMO, a "Scarface" miniseries with a black urban cast would be something different and interesting. However, I'd tend to believe that either the cast would be obscure or the series isn't near completion, since I haven't seen anything new. It'd be a shame for many "Scarface" fans if USA abandoned the project.

    It would be tough to create a character as powerful as Tony Montana (Alber Pacino).

    He was just an amazing presence in the movie.

    Keep in mind that it's only a miniseries on USA. It most likely won't have a cast member that is even close to Pacino. It's made for the current urban generation, although it's based on the 1980s crack outbreak.

    BTW: I say that because Scarface is a Top 10 alltime movie for me. This is a BS. Why call it the same thing and really hose it up like this?! I hate hollywood somedays.
