We live on the mid-point of a fairly decent size hill, with our spaces facing up the hill (no driveway and I can't use the garage in the back as only one car can fit in there), I could barely get my car out and going today. Of course it didn't help that the city put my car against about a foot trench of ice encrusted snow. Luckily the main roads and the highway were all pretty cleared.

NKU thought it'd be cute not to clear their sidewalks or roadways on campus. Hilarity and frustration ensued.

UD cleared some, but did it in a very scatterbrained and poor manner (ie, sidewalks people rarely use or don't need to were cleared, but the sidewalk in front of the 8 story school (well 2 floors of classes) of business had huge ice patches right in front of the door.)

I hate it when, and its obviously like this anywhere, the snow plows drag the plow because theres no snow, and you see sparks everywhere, and a big ole' pothole after it. Pick up the damn plow!

I was up there Sunday and it didn't look too bad, hopefully it'll be clear this Sunday too.

At least you guys get snow days.

I never have had many at my schools.

    Education comes before safety apparently.

    I guess so.

It's just frustrating because ever since Kindergarten, my school hasn't had many days off while it seems some districts want to ensure their students all get large around the middle and don't have to do much in the way of work.

My cousins over here on the KY side have always had so many days off when it doesn't seem necessary, while we haven't even had delays.

Now I go to UK and I see every other school in the area gets off for a day or more for each storm it seems, including UC, NKU, Miami, UD, etc. Some high schools are closed AGAIN tomorrow (well, today...Friday) here in northern KY.

    End rant.

    Not mine.

We had around 9 inches one time and it was still snowing that morning and I don't think we even had a delay.

They give off more days now, but not when Dr. Donald Schmidt was still the superintendent. He was a stringent educator. Of course he retired recently.

I don't go to school, so I don't get snowdays. Bummer!
