It's awesome, but I'm not convinced it's worth the money unless you have an HDTV. On a normal TV it looks pretty much exactly the same as the Xbox did, and the games that are out now are not really that impressive. Then again I only play Madden 07, so I haven't really been exposed to the whole selection.
I really don't think it is worth the money. My friend has one, it nice, but not worth it at all. If you really want a good console, buy the PS3.
The PS3 is going to cost twice as much as the 360 does now, so that is out of the question for most people. The one thing I really like about the 360 is the controller, especially the wireless one, and that the system as a whole is a lot sleeker than the original. If you can afford it then definitely go for it. Elder Scrolls is supposed to be really good, and Madden is great as well. Good deal.
yeah i just sold a piano that i haven't been playing for 1000.00
and since i put it the work to sell it my wife said i can have $500 of it to do with whatever i want and the rest will pay off some bills
go for it.
ps3 will be an expensive piece of junk soon enough, if they don't lower the $600 price tag.
360 or ps3 doesn't concern me much since I'll be getting a Wii in 2 months, but I'll probbaly want a 360 in a year or so when more games I like are out.

I bought it and it is flippin sweet.
The orginal PS was a whole lot better than the X-Box. The PS had a ton of great games in each genre. My all-time favorite is Resident Evil. This game alone is why I had bought a PS.

A basic Xbox 360 is like $300, and then $50 for 1 game. And then another $50-100 for some accessories.
I'll probably get one if they can lower the price.
The next-gen video game systems are way too expensive for my gov. paycheck. The next system I will most likely buy would be the Wii since it's less than $300. I believe the Wii is more interactive so I will most likely won't play it much.
