They almost have to though. If somebody attached his name to that publicly he may as well follow it up with his public resignation.

I won't lie, if I knew my team would be in too much disarray if I drafted him because they're backwards bigots on the matter and was asked I'd answer anonymously too, because all the public would hear is "GM doesn't want to draft him because he's gay".

Of course, I say that under the premise I choose to answer, I'd likely say no comment. Also I'd only be there if I definitively knew my players were too backwards to make it worth the risk.

Yup. It's not even the opinion so much as the need to espouse it anonymously. A simple no comment wouldn't upset a soul.

Sports analysts and fans alike who scoff at free agency signings (NFL) under the argument that "you can find someone better or just as good in the draft" going on to argue about other positions of need.

It's a very weak and conveniently lazy argument because they never specify who they can find in the draft relative to their draft position. It's always just "...why not find somebody in the draft?"

Well, if I can easily find someone else in the draft at that position why can't I find someone in the draft to fill the other positions of need you deemed more important?

Either tell me who you think the team can draft that is likely to be available at their draft position and as good or better than the FA signing you don't like or stfu with your lazy analysis.

People who complain about game requests on facebook telling everyone to quit sending them.

I mean, I get that the way facebook games reward you for pestering your friends is stupid but it is what it is and you have two choices

1) Try in vain to get your entire friends list to obey an angry request

or

2) take matters into your own control and block them

And yeah, you can't block game requests across the board, but if you actually take the tremendous effort (all of two clicks) to block requests from a game every time you see one it eventually dwindles down to the point where you hardly get any. And the few times you do you take that all of two clicks effort to block that one and move happily the hell on.

It's some site where people post photos with captions (or something) to share recipes, tips on how to build something, hobbies, and stuff like that.

I'm not sure I comprehend the interest since I can use Google to look up stuff like that but it's very popular amongst a lot of my coworkers.

I always find it strange when someone tells me in online conversation that they are "...just expressing their opinion". Ok? Of course you are just expressing your opinion....and I am expressing mine. Having a different opinion doesn't mean I'm telling you that you cannot have yours, it just means I have a different opinion and I am expressing it as well.

Telling me that you are expressing your opinion is like telling me you used letters to make your post, or that you were breathing while typing it, or that you sent your message over the internet. It is obvious enough on its own just by me reading it and is an unnecessary distraction to the conversation.

this is just my opinion, but I think people usually do it so they try to forcefully make their point but don't want to come off like an overbearing jackass or have something unpopular to say and use the phrase as a buffer of sorts.
