But that's not enough, after he's finally done, that girl comes on over the PA and says the same exact thing....and then she, too, repeats herself.

Do they really think we need to be told the same thing 4 times in a row on 15 minute intervals?
This still grinds my gears. And I get to listen to this incessant blabber again in a week.

This isn't much of a deal. People are stupid and careless, and need to be reminded of trivial things. I think it's good.

Plus, it's an airport. People come and go every second. The message on the PA might be old to you, but for someone who just got there, it's a new and welcome reminder.

Besides, it's not like you spend days on end at the airport. One message every 15 minutes, wow that's real annoying!

It's not that it's every 15 minutes, it's that they repeat it 4 times everytime they make the announcement.

The guy that I coach our basketball team with is on the road all the time. There are some weeks I think he spends more time in airports than he does at home. He says it's annoying as hell.

Now, can you imagine if you worked at an airport?! How annoying would that get?

I actually undertand the concept of announcing it every 15 minutes, for the reasons DK points out.

It's that they play it twice with the guy's voice, and then two more times with the girl's voice that annoys the hell out of me.

    Why repeat it 4 times?

You know what grinds my gears?

Buying a printer only to come home and find out that the USB cable is sold separately.

It is true that I made an ass out of u and me when I figured a piece of equipment I was purchasing would come with all necessary parts needed to operate it.

And I can easily change that statement to it grinding my gears that a printer doesn't come with a USB cord even if I had noticed it before coming home without a USB cord to go with it.

(Thankfully I had a spare at home and didn't have to buy a new one, though)

Not sure if that's sarcasm or not.

I mean, I guess they expected me to connect the printer to my computer via brainwaves.

I wasn't being sarcastic...many things like that make you buy stuff similar to that sometimes. I think mine came with it, what cheap-ass company was that?
