    MP3 Players

With school coming up, I plan on purchasing a MP3 player to keep me busy between classes. The reason I am posting this is to ask a question, well, rather for suggestions on a good, but reasonably priced MP3 player. Here's my preferences:

Not willing to go over $250
It has to have at least 1 gig of storage.
    Reliability is a must!

I've been skimming on the Dell website and came across one, a 20GB from Creative.

    http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/p...9&sku=A0600148

Using the link above, do any of you MP3 pros think this is a good deal? Or are there better options out there for me? I would truly appreciate it.

    Thanks again,
    Ed (AKA Rufio181)

Bro, just spend 300 and get an iPod video. 30 gigs, extremely reliable, great battery life and it looks slick. I've had mine for 6 months and haven't had a single problem with it yet.

I've got a RIO. Holds 1.5gb of tunes and that's plenty for me.

I have a couple of questions for the ipod geeks out there:

    (1) why do you need to be able to have 17832473923 songs at your fingertips. Doesn't it take like a half a week to skim through the stuff?

    (2) Also, why would you want to watch a video on a screen thtat 1.5 x 1 inches?

    (3) iTunes is one of the worst programs I've ever seen and used in my entire life. I help out a couple of people with their ipods when they want to add stuff and remove stuff and I have to say that iTunes is the biggest piece of crap I've ever used for music and music organization. I wouldn't buy an ipod if I had to use that damn program. No way, no how!

I got a little 2 GB nano, it's in your price range. I still want to one day get a larger one, but for now it's cool. I just put my most listened to songs on it.

I don't get the iTunes hate. I used that program to listen to music on my laptop, even before I got an iPod. It's excellent.

winamp works perfectly fine and I'd be willing to bet its no where near as intrusive as itunes is. Considering how they run itunes, if you have illegally downloaded music on your computer, I'd bet you aren't the only one that knows.

Spring out an extra $10 and get this baby.

battery life is ridiculous, plenty of storage, very small and lightweight, has good video playback if you want it (but frankly I only bought this version because its battery life is 3x as much as the non-video version), only problem is that people often have a difficult time navigating it at first since it functions more like browsing a hard drive than most other players.

Ive got an old 20 GB Ipod, it does what it needs to, my brother has the 30 GB Ipod Video and its bad ass, only 300 bucks too. You might be able to pick one up on ebay pretty cheap.

I checked it and it seems to be alright. The only problems being the battery life (esp with the videos) and the lack of extras (like connecting cables).

I don't use the video feature much.

I've yet to have the iPod die on me, battery-wise, and I usually have it on.

Alright i've got them narrowed down to a few:

Apple IPOD Nano 4GB (very compact, good battery life)
iRiver H10 5GB (good value at less than 200 bucks)
Creative Zen Micro Photo 8GB (been my favorite so far)
iRiver Clix 2GB (small memory, but I love the feats and the price)
Samsung YEPP YP-Z5 4GB (claims to have 35 hr battery life)
