rude or no? (a scientific poll)

Seriously, it irritates me to no end when I catch some mother ****er leaning on my car. No wonder I kept getting all these random little scratches that I had to buff out with some compound. Am I wrong here or is it just plain rude for a person to be leaning up against someone else's automobile?

a couple of times it's been family members...I've restrained from saying "what the **** are you leaning on my car for?!?!?! are you serious?!?!!?" I don't think it'd go over well...

If it's upsetting you to the point of wanting to "throw down" and/or curse, then yeah, you should calm down about it IMHO.

That said, it is kinda rude and i'd ask someone to not do so.

People sometimes, without thinking, will lean on the nearest item to them just as a means of relaxing a bit while they're standing around.
I bet if you go to someone leaning on your car and politely ask "hey man, could you not lean on my car like that? It's kinda rude" more often than not they'd say "oh, my bad." and get off.

If they continue to do so and/or respond rudely to your polite request, then yeah perhaps it's time to get a bit vocal.

when I have caught people they jump right off...it just seems disrespectful to me and I'm so shocked that someone would do that to someone else's property, that I can't even say anything I'm just like

well, yah, thats what i would probably do if its an extended family member (since my dad thinks touching the frame of a car is a sin) or some such. but a bunch of strangers just leanin on it as if it was their own car, yah thatd piss me the hell off.

i dont even mind friends doing it, but only if we're talkin and I'm leanin against it or whatnot, just dont sit on the freakin hood whatever you do. dont need your ass causin a dent on my hood.

it's always the side of my car...mostly either rear half...it's pain in the ass buffing that shit out with compound when you don't have a buffer...wet terry clothe, rub into scratch, rub, rub, repeat...repeat, buff...

of course, when I made my post it was with the mindset that you actually know the people or person leaning on your car...

How can someone really scratch your car if they are just leaning on it? I mean, the only I thing I could think would cause a scratch is if sandpaper was attached to their jeans or something.

a belt or something...or the stupid little metal button type things on jeans...it's not that hard to lean against something and move back and forth to scratch off some paint
