I understand both sides to the thought behind not allowing certain posts to count. However, I've seen boards go to this format on certain subforums and those subforums end up somewhat dying out. It doesn't really matter to me if the posts on the A-Z threads count unless the forum dies down due to it. I like playing the games, but I think most of the other posters stopped when the post stopped counting.
And that's exactly what's going to happen. It'll probably never die out completely, but the traffic will definitely die down big time.
I noticed that... we could barely keep up yesterday, and that was fun. Now it goes hours before anyone posts.

If it makes it more active it's probably better.
To me if you don't post in a forum because it won't increase your post count you have problems... but if that is what it takes to keep it active then go for it.

I like the whole reputation thing.
I think we need to set some type of limit for the posting games. You could post there every once in a while, but try not to abuse it.
why? that's what they're there for, abuse.
As stated before, the reputation thing is more indictive of a poster than his post count anyways. And anyone who's been around message boards for long enough knows that a high post count doesn't neccesarily mean a good poster
HF2002, while I understand what you are trying to say, I'm not sure how you could do that. That would be like saying "we encourage you to post, but not too often".
Thanks mission. I opened a discussion on it elsewhere. Maybe it's something we can/should keep and eye on for a while and see how it goes. *shrug*
