Ian Kinsler, Texas Rangers agree to 5-year extension - ESPN Dallas

Second baseman Ian Kinsler said he and the Texas Rangers have agreed to a new $75 million, five-year contract.

The deal is pending a physical and would start next season, replacing a $10 million option the team had for 2013.

The deal reportedly has an option for a sixth season, meaning it could run through the 2018 season.
Kinsler will be 35 at the end of this deal but he's worth it. He's an good defensive 2B who is a 30/30 threat every year. Those are hard to find at 2B. His average will never be great but he walks enough and doesn't strikeout much. I like Kinsler and he should keep help propel the Rangers into the post season. He has a post season line of .303/.413/.479.
