Derek Holland looked like an ace pitching against the Twins, at least for the first 4 innings. The only knock against him was a 2nd inning solo homerun to Delmon Young as Holland recorded 9 of his first 12 outs by strikeout over that span. With the game tied at one going into the 5th he ran into trouble. Holland almost pitched out of a 5th inning jam which had runners in scoring position with nobody out. He got two outs before finally surrendering a 3-run shot to Mike Cuddyer to give the Twins a 4-1 lead. The Rangers struck back in the 6th scoring 2 to make it a 4-3 game and Nellie Cruz tied it up with an 8th solo shot, his 15th of the year. The Twins went on to win 5-4 scoring the winning run off Arthur Rhodes in the bottom of the 9th to deal the Rangers their 3rd loss in their last 4 games.
