    Rangers Tigers @ Rangers: 6/6-6/8

So much for the rolling Rangers. Colby Lewis, who had gone 4-2 with a 2.04 ERA over his last 7 starts, was rocked for 9 runs on 10 hits over 3 1/3 innings including 4 homeruns allowed. Detroit starter Max Scherzer wasn't great either giving up 5 runs through 5 innings, but obviously pitched a little better than Colby. The Rangers had a good game offensively 7 runs on 10 hits including a 2 homer, 4 RBI game from Nellie Cruz, but the Tigers took game one 13-7.

In game 2 tonight the Tigers send Rick Porcello (5-3, 3.79 ERA) to the mound against Matt Harrison (5-4, 3.26 ERA). Harrison hasn't allowed an earned run since his May 17th start against the White Sox.

So much for Harrison's hot streak. He wasn't absolutely horrible like Cobly Lewis, but he still gave up 4 runs on 8 hits over 4 innings but did manage to strike out 5. Only problem is Porcello brought his A game allowing just 1 run over 6 innings. The Rangers ended up losing 8-1 but it could have been worse with the Tigers outhitting Texas 20-8. In a bit of good news, Kinsler and Murphy were a combined 5 for 8 in the 1-2 spots with Ian stealing his 12th base of the year and Adrian Beltre knocking his 15th double.

In game 3 the Rangers will send their surprise ace Alexi Ogando (6-0, 2.20 ERA) to the mound against Phil Coke (1-5, 3.81 ERA). Ogando has gone at least 6 innings in every start this year and gave up just 2 hits over 7 scoreless innings against the Tigers on April 11th.

I have really been impressed by Ogando. Didn't expect him to be going so deep into games or doing this well this early.

I was getting a little concerned in April when he was having blister problems, but they don't seem to have bothered him too much. I don't know if Texas would be leading the division right now without him. Hopefully he can snap the Rangers losing streak tonight.
