Rangers Hamilton Signs Two Year Deal

Jon Heyman of SI.com reports that Josh Hamilton signed a two-year, $24 million contract with the Rangers.
Sounds pretty fair for both sides. Hamilton will get an (AAV) average annual value of $12 million, which was his requested salary figure through the arbitration process. Of course, if Hamilton wins another MVP award in 2011, the Rangers will have saved themselves a good chunk of change for 2012. It's a win-win.
Its amazing that Hamilton only makes $1 million more a year than Aubrey Huff. Rangers definitely did well to get him so cheap and not to go too far in the years. Hamilton is a health risk so this is a fair deal. Hamilton should be in LF this season taking some risk away.

He will probably test FA after this for more money.

Way to hit 2-for-20 in the World Series. Thanks for nothing, Ham.

Not everyone can be Reggie Jackson or Edgar Renteria in the World Series...
