Rangers and OF David Murphy avoided arbitration Thursday by agreeing to a one-year, $2.4 million contract.
A nice haul for the first-year arbitration-eligible outfielder, who made just $427,670 last season. He batted .291/.358/.449 with 12 home runs and 65 RBI in 2010 for the American League champion Rangers and is expected to serve as an active fourth outfielder for Texas during the 2011 season.
Nice pay raise for a 4th OFer if you ask me. I like Murphy so good for him.
