Club president Nolan Ryan delivered the first-pitch baseball to President G.W. Bush who threw out the ceremonial first-pitch of the Rangers season, and was also treated to a standing ovation by the Texas crowd. In a show of respect to honor our nation's servicemen, General Jeffery Hammond, medal of honor recipient David McNerney, and navy cross recipient Marcus Luttrell accompanied President Bush to the mound.

The Ranger players didn't fail to impress either. Opening day starter Kevin Millwood dominated the Indians lineup allowing just one run on 5 hits over 7 innings on his way to the win. The Rangers bats also dominated the Cleveland pitching staff ripping 15 hits to Cleveland's 5. Six Ranger hitters had multi-hit games and Blalock and Saltalamacchia both homered in a 9-1 win over the Indians to kick-off the 2009 season.

Obviously history doesn't give much reason to think that they can continue to play like this, but they couldn't have started off the season much better than they did yesterday.
