According to MLB.com, the Rangers are investigating free agent third baseman Joe Crede.
In other words, the Rangers are studying his medical reports. Travis Metcalf, who hit .232 in 56 at-bats last season, is currently penciled in as the team's starting third baseman. Crede, if healthy, would be an upgrade both offensively and defensively and may only require a one-year deal.
I sure the Rangers get him and not the Giants. Crede is a better fit for the AL anyway given his back problems. Rangers are moving Blalock to first leaving Metcalf as the only option.
