    Rangers Rangers To Get Maddux

    No, not the good Maddux.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the Rangers have lured Mike Maddux away from the Brewers to become their pitching coach.
Maddux became a free agent after the World Series, and while the Brewers wanted him back, it sounds like the Rangers, who probably have the game's highest-paid hitting coach in Rudy Jaramillo, stepped in with a big offer. It could prove to be a very nice pickup for the Rangers.
This is a good pickup for the Rangers. Now all they need are talented pitchers for Maddux to work with. Hopefully the Rangers will be big players in the FA market because they are just a few players away from being real contenders. The offense is there already, they just need the pitching. Kind of like the Rays have been up until this season. Maddux does help though.

I would agree that this is a good move for the Rangers. Mike Maddux is a veery good pitching coach. Signing him would ensure that some of the better FA pitchers would take a long look at Ranger offers. He gives them a lot of credibility. He could, as was said, help the Rangers become real contenders for a title very soon.
