Rangers @ White Sox (April 17th-19th)

    Game 1 Matchup
Robinson Tejeda (1-1, 4.50 ERA) vs. Jon Garland (0-0, 3.65 ERA)
    7:11 PM central on FSN

    Game 2 Matchup
Kevin Millwood (2-1, 3.71 ERA) vs. Mark Buehrle (0-0, 4.32 ERA)
    7:11 PM central on FSN

    Game 3 Matchup
Vicente Padilla (0-3, 6.62 ERA) vs. Javier Vazquez (2-0, 1.50 ERA)
    7:11 PM central on FSN

    Game 1 Matchup
Tejeda: After pitching 7 scoreless innings in his first start, Tejeda was much less effective last time out allowing 6 earned runs on 10 hits over 5 innings for the loss. This will be his first career start against the White Sox.

Garland: He pitched very well against Oakland in his last start giving up just 3 hits over 7 scoreless innings but got a no decision. Garland has struggled in his career against Texas going 4-6 with a 5.49 ERA but went 2-0 with a 2.21 ERA against them in 2006.

    Game 2 Matchup
Millwood: Kevin has been the Rangers ace so far winning 2 games with a sub-4.00 ERA. Last time out against the Mariners was his best start of the year allowing just 1 run over 6 innings for the win. In 5 career games against the White Sox Millwood has not won a game but has dominated with a 1.32 ERA. His U.S. Cellular Field ERA is even lower at 0.75.

Buerhle: After pitching just 1.1 innings in his first start Buerhle got his season going last time out pitching 7 solid innings against the Athletics but got a no decision. He has pitched very well against Texas in his career going 8-3 with a 3.29 ERA.

    Game 3 Matchup
Padilla: After being one of the Rangers best pitchers last season, Padilla has gotten off to a horrible start in '07 losing all 3 starts with an ERA of 6.62. He will be looking to get back on track against a team he has gone 1-2 with a 3.93 ERA in 3 career starts against.

Vazquez: He seems to be the White Sox ace so far having won both of his starts and only allowed 2 earned runs in 12 innings of work this season. Vazquez has not pitched a lot against Texas, but when he has pitched he has been hammered for a 6.87 ERA but still managed a 2-1 record.

    Game One: Mid-Game Update
After dropping 2 straight in Seattle, the Rangers are looking very good kicking off their southside series with the Sox. There was no scoring until the Sox put one across in the bottom of the 4th thanks to a Jim Thome homerun, but that is all that Robinson Tejeda has given up through 7 innings of work. The Rangers struck back in the 5th with a Brad Wilkerson 2-run shot to give Texas a 2-1 lead. Ian Kinsler padded the lead with a 3-run blast in the 7th giving the Rangers a 5-1 lead. That was Kinsler's 7th homerun of the season. Texas starter Tejeda has given up just the one run on just 3 hits over 7 innings and looks well on his way to his 2nd win of the season.

On an 0-2, and runners on the corners, pitch Slammin' Sammy smacks the ball into the rightfield bleachers for a 3-run homerun giving Texas an 8-1 lead.

As much as I think Sosa is just wasting other deserving ABs, it was good to see him come through with a homerun to put this game away.

After being no-hit by Chicago starter Mark Buehrle, the Rangers got a little of their offensive stroke back in last night's game, although they still lost 6-4.

The Rangers jumped out to an early lead against Javier Vazquez thanks to Sammy Sosa's 4th homerun of the year. This was a 2nd inning solo shot giving Texas a 1-0 lead. No more scoring happened until the Sox put 3 across in the 4th thanks to a 3-run shot by A.J. Pierzynski off Vicente Padilla to put the Sox ahead 3-1. The Rangers came back to tie the game with single runs in the 6th and 7th to make it a 3-3 game. Vazquez was chased after allowing the 7th inning run. The Rangers also went to the pen, which did not work out much better than Padilla's outing. Scott Feldman gave up 3 runs on 4 hits in just an inning of work, including a 2-run shot to Rob Mackowiak. The Sox lead 6-3 after their 3-run 8th. The Rangers got a rally going in the 9th against Bobby Jenks but only managed one run and fell 6-4.
