    Rangers Acquire Stewart from White Sox

    The Rangers traded minor league pitcher Johnny Lujan to the White Sox for catcher Chris Stewart.

    Stewart is a .252 career hitter with 19 homeruns and 136 RBI in 390 career minor league games.

    He is expected to compete with Miguel Ojeda and Guillermo Quiroz for the backup catcher job in spring training.

    This could be a decent pickup for the Rangers. They have a very capable catcher now and need a guy that can fill-in a game a week and maybe DH once in a while.
