Rangers sign Lofton to 1 year deal

    LINK

It'll be interesting to see how he fairs in Texas. Lofton will be the Rangers first true base stealer since Tom Goodwin in 1999.

Or tear a hammy in April and be on the shelf for most of the season.
Seriously, I like this signing. Lofton isn't the player he was a few years back and has never had a good arm, but he plays hard and leaves it all on the field. No one will question his effort. He plays defense pretty well, considering his throwing limitation, and still can run the bases with the best of 'em. He should allow the kids in the organization to mature (Mayberry, Guzman) and may become somewhat of a mentor for them.
Things look pretty good for the Rangers going into the near future.

I would agree on that part if they could sign Zito or Mulder. (They have been pursuing Mulder btw) As it is, they are still short by at least 1 SP. Really all they have done is replace DeRosa with Catalanotto, and Matthews with Lofton. Gagne helps too but they still lost a lot this off-season. They still need to replace Eaton in the rotation, hopefully with Zito.
