    Rangers Meet With Zito

A source told MLB.com that Barry Zito and agent Scott Boras visited with Rangers owner Tom Hicks and general manager Jon Daniels on Thursday.
It's believed Zito wants to pitch on the West Coast or in New York, so even though Ron Washington's presence helps their case, the Rangers would likely have to come in with a huge bid if they have any hopes of signing him. $100 million may just be the starting point.
Rangers need to make a good transaction and Zito is it. Chan Ho Park, Arod's huge contract, the Carlos Lee trade, the Soriano trade and giving up Chris Young have all been horrible moves. Zito and Millwood give a very good 1-2 punch. If you ridiculously overpay for Chan Ho, why not Zito?

I highly doubt they will get him, but it would be great if they do. I think they are still trying to work something out with Padilla so that would make a pretty good 3/5ths of the rotation. Then fill in the rest with some young guys like Loe, Koronka, , Tejeda, maybe Volquez if he is a little more ready next year.
