Good luck on signing those guys. It sounds like Texas is closing in on having a good team next year and sounds like ownership might be willing to spend some big $$$$$... I hope they can sign them all back.

Rodney sets down the Rangers in order for the 2nd straight inning.
Hopefully Littleton or whoever pitches in the bottom of the 9th can hold them scoreless.
They should have had a good team this year. I guess considering if they go 9-9 the rest of the season they will have a winning record that isn't too bad. The big thing next year will be the rotation. Big surprise I know, but Tejeda needs to pitch like he has this season, Eaton needs to be healthy, and so does Loe. Kam can be a quality starter when he's healthy as he showed earlier in the season.Quote:

Tonight's game got off to a good start. Over the first 4 innings against Verlander, Texas peppered him for 4 runs on 8 hits including doubles by Matthews and Kinsler, a homerun by Lee, and Matthews also with a triple. Millwood was taking care of business allowing 2 hits over 3 scoreless innings but has run into some big trouble in the bottom of the 4th. The Tigers have rallied against him to score 3 runs on 3 hits and a walk and now trail just 4-3. Currently a runner on 1st with 2 outs and Neifi Perez at the plate.
Perez flies out to centerfield to end the inning.
The Rangers lead 4-3 going into the 5th innings.
Blalock with a 1-out triple in the 5th and DeRosa follows with a single to centerfield to score Blalock. The Rangers now lead 5-3.
Justin Verlander's day is done. Current line on Verlander is 4.1 IP - 10 H - 5 R - 5 ER - 1 BB - 2 K - 1 HRA
The runner on first is the property of Verlander so that could go to 6 runs on him.
Mike Maroth comes on in relief of Justin Verlander. The first batter he faces, Matt Stairs, crushes the Maroth delivery over the rightfield fence for a 2-run homerun. Now a 7-3 Ranger lead.
Kinsler and Laird are retired in order to end the inning.
Rangers lead 7-3 going into the bottom of the 5th.
Granderson leads off the 5th with a single and Pudge follows by grounding into the double play. Millwood gets the strikeout of Craig Monroe to end the inning.
Rangers lead 7-3 after 5 innings.
Matthews will leadoff the 6th inning needing just a homerun for the cycle.
He has singled, doubled, and tripled in this game in that order.
Matthews Leadsoff With A Homerun!!!!
It's A Natural Cycle For Gary Matthews Junior!!!!!!
Michael Young follows with a groundout. Teixeira draws a walk but El Caballo grounds into the inning ending double play.
Rangers lead 8-3.
Maggs leads off the bottom of the 6th with a single. Millwood rebounds by striking out Carlos Guillen looking. Runner on 1st with 1 out.
Millwood gets Casey and Thames to fly out to end the inning.
Rangers lead 8-3 after 6 innings.
It sounds like some storms may be rolling into Detroit shortly too.
