Eric Hurley and Nate Gold were named the Texas Rangers minor league pitcher and player of the year, respectively.

Hurley, who went 8-7 with a 3.53 ERA and struck out 137 batters in 137 innings, joins the likes of Jeff Zimmerman, Doug Davis, Kameron Loe, and Tom Diamond as winners of the Nolan Ryan Minor League Pitcher of the Year award.

Gold, who hit .291 with 34 homeruns and 103 RBI in 119 games for Frisco, joins a list that includes Steve Beuchele, Juan Gonzalez, Rick Helling, Lee Stevens, Mike Lamb, and most recently Mench, Blalock, Nix, and Kinsler as winners of the Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year award.
