    Rangers @ Mariners (September 8th-10th)

    Projected Matchups
Game 1: Kevin Millwood (14-9, 4.49 ERA) vs. Cha Seung Baek (2-0, 3.12 ERA)
    9:05 PM Central on KDFI

Game 2: Edinson Volquez (1-4, 6.75 ERA) vs. Felix Hernandez (11-13, 4.70 ERA)
    8:05 PM Central on KDFI

Game 3: Robinson Tejeda (4-3, 5.82 ERA) vs. Jarrod Washburn (8-13, 4.49 ERA)
    3:05 PM Central on FSN

    Game 1 Matchup Notes
Millwood: Kevin has been rock solid over his last 5 starts going 4-1 with a 3.47 ERA and is 2-0 with a 4.26 ERA in 3 starts against Seattle this season. He is 4-1 with a 3.82 ERA in 6 lifetime starts against them. Millwood is coming off an awesome outting against the Indians where he allowed only 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 10 over 8 innings of work.

Baek: He will be making only his 4th start of the season, but his first 3 have all been solid having gone 2-0 with a 3.12 ERA so far. He allowed just 1 run in 6.2 innings in a win over the Devilrays in his last start. This is his first start against the Rangers.

    Game 2 Matchup Notes
Volquez: Edinson has not pitched well since shutting out the Mariners for 7 innings on August 12th. In his 3 starts after that he has gone 0-3 with an ERA of 11.61. Hopefully his 7 scoreless inning game will carry over to this start.

Hernandez: Felix was hit hard by the D-Rays in his last start allowing 7 runs on 10 hits in 7.2 innings, but pitched a 5-hit shutout against the Angels in his start before that. In 3 starts against the Rangers this year, Hernandez is 1-2 with an 8.10 ERA.

    Game 3 Matchup Notes
Tejeda: Robinson has been great his last 4 starts going 3-0 with a stellar 2.63 ERA. His last 4 starts have lowered his season ERA from 9.78 after his first 5 starts to it's current 5.82 mark. This is his first start of the year against the Mariners.

Washburn: The Tigers roughed up Washburn in his last start for 6 runs over 6.2 innings and a loss, but he had allowed just 5 runs in 13.1 innings in his previous 2 starts. In his only other start against Texas this year, Washburn went 7 innings allowing only 2 runs on 6 hits but took the loss.

Millwood is off to a good start in tonight's game. Two K's through 2 hitless innings so far. Baek has been solid so far though and the game is scoreless heading into the bottom of the 3rd.

Millwood pitched a solid game only allowing 3 runs in the 5th and striking out 7 over 6 innings of work. Unfortunately Baek was on target throwing 7 scoreless innings. The Rangers only managed 2 runs off the Mariner pen and their own pen allowed 4 more runs dealing the Rangers a 7-2 loss. Carlos Lee was the only offensive highlight going 2 for 4 with an RBI.

The Rangers let another one get away last night, this time in an extra inning battle. Robinson Tejeda and Jarrod Washburn matched each other with 5 scoreless innings to start the game Texas finally scored in the 6th. With Carlos Lee on 1st, Mark DeRosa ripped a double to the gap in right-center and Lee scored from 1st to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. The Mariners countered with 2 runs in the bottom of the inning, the only 2 runs that Tejeda would allow. Texas was trailing 2-1 with 2 outs in the 9th but Matthews hit his 16th homerun of the year to tie the game at 2. The game ended on John Rheinecker's watch as he allowed the Mariners game winning run in the bottom of the 13th.

Tejeda continuted his solid pitcher allowing just the 2 runs, only 1 of them earned, on 4 hits over 6.2 innings. The Rangers used 7 different relievers in this game for a total of 8 pitchers.
