Young went 3 for 5 in last night's loss to the Angels, but is still looking for that elusive 51st double. He now has 3 games left to get 8 hits to set a new career high in that area.

    Hit Count: 214
    RBI Count: 101
    2B Count: 50

    Goals: 8 Hits, 1 Double

After recording two doubles on Friday, Michael Young needs four more hits over the final two games to reach 220 for the second straight season.
If he gets there, Young would be just the second player in the last 70 years with back-to-back seasons of at least 220 hits. Hall of Famer Joe Medwick did it in 1936 and 1937. Young owners have bemoaned his power dropoff this season, but he just keeps hitting so it's hard to complain too much.

Wow! I had no idea of that. I would have figured Ichiro would have had back-to-back 220 hit seasons by now. Definately an attainable goal for Young with the way he has been hitting lately.

Young finally got that elusive 51st double in last night's 6-5 win over the Mariners to set a new Ranger single season record. He also added his 52nd later in the game and drove in 2 runs.

    Hit Count: 216
    RBI Count: 103
    2B Count: 52

    Goals: 6 Hits

Young now needs a pair of 3-hit games to finish out the season to set a career high of 222 hits.

I think it is safe to say Young will not set a new career high in hits today. One game left and he is 6 short. Still, 216 hits isn't too shabby.

Re: Michael Young 200 Hit Watch

With the way his season started out I wasn't sure he was going to make. He really picked it up though has had a fine season.

I actually haven't been paying that much attention to the Rangers lately (school has been keeping me busy ), so thanks for posting this.
