    8/15 Game Recap
The Rangers jumped out to an early lead thanks to a 3-run homerun from Matt Stairs in the 2nd inning. That put Texas up 3-0. The Angels came back to hammer Padilla for 6 runs combined over the 3rd and 4th innings before he was ejected for Juan Rivera. The Rangers trailed 6-3 going into the bottom of the 4th and began to chip away at the Angels. Texas scored 2 runs in the 4th, including Hank Blalock's 14th homerun of the year, to cut the deficit to 1 run. Michael Young hit his 12th homerun in the 5th to tie the game at 6. Nobody scored until the 7th inning when Rod Barajas hit his 11th homerun to give Texas a 7-6 lead. Ranger ace reliever Wes Littleton couldn't hold down the Angels though and allowed 3 runs in the 8th to give the Angels a 9-7 lead, which would be the final score.

4th Inning Note: Vicente Padilla was ejected in the 4th inning after hitting Vlad Guerrero, throwing inside to Garret Anderson, and then plunking Juan Rivera after the teams had been warned. Buck Showalter was also ejected at the point.

Game Note: Josh Rupe pitched a great game in relief of Vicente Padilla. He pitched 2.1 perfect innings with all 7 outs on ground balls before giving up a walk and being removed from the game.

    8/16 Game Starting Lineups
    Rangers Lineup
    2B-Ian Kinsler
    SS-Michael Young
    LF-Carlos Lee
    1B-Mark Teixeira
    3B-Mark DeRosa
    C-Gerald Laird
    DH-Hank Blalock
    CF-Jerry Hairston Jr.
    RF-Nelson Cruz

    Angels Lineup
    CF-Chone Figgins
    3B-Maicer Izturis
    SS-Orlando Cabrera
    DH-Vladimir Guerrero
    LF-Garret Anderson
    RF-Juan Rivera
    1B-Howie Kendrick
    2B-Adam Kennedy
    C-Jose Molina

Kind of surprising to see Kinsler batting leadoff. I would think, since apparently Matthews has the day off, Young would be given the leadoff spot. Blalock also gets a day off from defensive duties as the DH and is dropped to the 7th spot in the order against the lefty Angels starter Saunders.

    Pitching for Texas: Adam Eaton

    Chone Figgins:
Pops out to second base. Kinsler makes the catch.
Maicer Izturis: Pops out to third base. DeRosa makes the catch.
Orlando Cabrera: Singles to leftfield. Runner on 1st, 2 out.
Vladimir Guerrero: Singles to leftfield, Cabrera to 2nd. Runners on 1st and 2nd, 2 out.
Garret Anderson: Flies out to rightfield. Cruz makes the catch.

    Inning over.

It was not a good inning for Eaton. It took him 31 pitches to get through that first inning. If he keeps this up he'll be lucky to last 5 innings.

Eaton had a very nice 2nd inning getting a strikeout and a couple of fly outs. Now 2 scoreless in the books for Eaton.
