    because I was working out instead of watching a game that was already lost. it's just one game guys...you seem to forget that the A's are the team in 1st place and the team that won this series. Enjoy your blowout win.

    No, I haven't forgotten the A's are in first and that they won this series, and I am enjoying the blowout win. I don't get to see many of these. heh

    8/9 Game Recap
    It was all about the offense as the Ranger teed off for 14 runs on 17 hits including 5 homeruns.

    Gary Matthews Jr. went had 2 hits including his 36th double and a homerun.
    Carlos Lee went 4 for 5 with a walk, 4 runs scored, and his first homerun as a Ranger.
    Mark Teixeira had 3 hits, 2 runs scored, and hit his 34th double.
    Mark DeRosa was the big story going 4 for 5 with a double and a pair of 3-run homeruns. He finished with 6 RBI on the day.
    Jerry Hairston Jr. walked twice, scored twice, and made 2 brilliant plays at shortstop.
    Vicente Padilla became the Rangers first 12 game winning by pitching 7 scoreless innings and striking out 6.
    Ron Mahay finished out the game throwing 2 scoreless innings.

    With the win over Oakland the Rangers pull to 5.5 games out of first.
