Volquez pitched decent but kept going down in counts early and that ultimately led to more trouble. With that being said I hope he stays on the team because that outing was at least better than the past few Koronka outings.

8/7 Game Recap
It wasn't quite as high scoring a game as I expected. Volquez actually pitched somewhat decent. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits and walked just 2 over 5 innings. Unfortunately Bauer blew the game allowing 3 more Oakland runs putting it out or reach for Texas. Biggest news in this game was Hank Blalock going 2 for 3 with his 13th homerun of the season. That was his first homerun since July 5th against Toronto. The loss dropped the Rangers to 5.5 games out.
