    Rangers @ Angels (August 3rd-6th)

    Projected Matchups
Game 1: Kevin Millwood vs. Jered Weaver
Game 2: Vicente Padilla vs. John Lackey
Game 3: John Koronka vs. Ervin Santana
Game 4: To Be Announced vs. Joe Saunders

    Game 1 Matchup Notes
Millwood: Kevin has struggled over his last 6 starts going 2-4 with a 5.61 ERA but is still the ace on the road going 7-1 with a 2.96 ERA in 10 road starts for Texas this year. He is also 1-0 with a 2.03 ERA in his career against the Angels. This will be his first start against them this year though.

Weaver: Jered has done an incredible job in the Angels rotation when he is given the chance. He has gone 7-0 with a 1.51 ERA in 8 starts this year. His worst start came in his last outing against the Redsox though as he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits over 6.2 innings. This is his first career start against the Rangers.

    Game 2 Matchup Notes
Padilla: He has been hit hard in his last 2 starts but is still a solid 5-3 with a 3.43 ERA over his last 10 starts. He has posted a solid 4.21 ERA on the road this season but in a May 23rd start against the Angels he gave up 4 runs on 11 hits in 5 innings of work.

Lackey: John is the Angels ace with a 10-6 record and a 2.95 ERA this season. In 2 starts against the Rangers this year he is 1-0 and has allowed 6 runs on 9 hits in 13 innings of work.

    Game 3 Matchup Notes
Koronka: John was hit hard in July going 1-2 with a 5.53 ERA in 5 starts but pitched well his last 2 times out allowing 3 runs in 11 innings and picking up a win. In an April 12th start against the Angels he allowed just 2 runs on 6 hits over 6 innings for the win.

Santana: He is also having a solid season having won 11 games with an ERA in the 4.20's. He was roughed up a bit in July for a 4.87 ERA in 6 starts but allowed just 3 runs in 8 innings in a losing effort against Oakland in his last start. This is his first start of the year against the Rangers.

    Game 4 Matchup Notes
    TBA

Saunders: He has pitched extremely well in his first 2 big league starts, allowing just 3 earned runs on 9 hits in 14 innings of work winning both starts. This will be his last before Bartolo Colon comes off the DL on the 11th.

A four game series. I hate those. There are some good pitching matchups and in all honesty I hope the Rangers pound the Angels.

Even if the Rangers do win some games, they won't be doing no pounding.

Ranger sready to battle division foe? If they are, they had better get to the starter, cause K-Rod is tough at the end of a game.

Kinsler gets a SB, some agressive baserunning by Buck tonight must have taken a page out of scioscas book.

Sac fly for Wilkerson scoring DeRosa. Weavers first run allowed at home. 1-0 Rangers.

Sciosia (Don't know how to speel his name) is a good manager. I firmluy believe catchers still make the best managers. They see all the action when they are behind the plate. The work closely with the pitching. They know how to call a game. They know situations. And they always seem to have a knack or hunch at what the team they are playing againist are going to do next strategically...

Good points, I agree to a certain extent. I really do like sciosia as a manager or however you spell it.
