Last I saw they were up 4-2. Hopefully your scenario will not be the case.

It's looking good for Texas. Mench and Wilkerson just hit back to back bombs off Hendrickson to give Texas a 6-2 lead.

A great pitchers duel between John Koronka and Daniel Cabrera last night. Koronka gave up just a solo homerun, I think in the 4th to Jay Gibbons, and Mike Young had a sac fly for the Rangers only run in regulation. Tied at 1 in the 12th Mark DeRosa goes deep to right to give Texas a 2-1, 12 inning victory.

Now tonight they Rangers are romping over the Orioles early. Texas scored 4 in the 2nd and have added 2 more in the 3rd for a 6-0 lead in the bottom of the 4th. Mench hit his 9th homerun and Millwood is dominating having allowed just 1 hit and 1 walk in 4 innings so far.

The Rangers romped over the Orioles 8-2 in yesterday's game. Mench hit homerun number 9, a 3rd inning solo shot, and Teixeira added a 2-out 2-run shot in the 4th for his 4th homerun of the year. Brad Wilkerson also continued his hot streak going 2 for 2 raising his batting average to .255. Kevin Millwood went the distance for Texas allowing just 2 runs on 4 hits over 9 innings in the first complete game of the season by a Rangers starter.

Today the Rangers Vicente Padilla will host the Yankees Mike Mussina as they try to extend their current 6 game winning streak.

Season Note: The Rangers are now 17-12 with a 1.5 game lead in the AL West. Their .586 winning percentage is the 3rd best in the American League and tied for 6th best in all of baseball. The Rangers 4 primary starters (Millwood, Padilla, Koronka, Loe) have a combined 3.79 ERA this season.

Rangers are on a bit of roll right now, but as we all know the major league season is a marathon, not a sprint. But, it's still better to get off to a good start...they did well in the first half last year, too and then fell apart so they need to get over that hump.

The Rangers should just be getting underway in the 2nd game of the series against the Yankees. Yesterday's game looked like it would be an easy Yankee blowout with the Rangers trailing 8-1 after 5 innings. The Rangers pen came on and shut the Yankee offense down allowing just 1 run over the final 5 1/3 innings. Texas mounted a huge 8th inning rally scoring 6 runs to pull within one but Mariano Rivera came on and shut the rally down as the Rangers 6 game winning streak was snapped in an 8-7 loss to the Yankees.

In tonight game Kameron Loe (1-2, 4.15 ERA) will be going up against Shawn Chacon (3-1, 4.56 ERA).

Rangers got swept at home by the Yanks...they didn't lose too much ground considering the A's and Angels only won 1 game.

Matthews seems to be okay. So far he is 2 for 2 with a double today against the Twins.

Rangers are up 6-2 btw with Blalock having a 3 for 3 game and Teixeira 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored. Koronka is pitching well again allowing 2 runs over 6 innings so far.

John Koronka got the job done again as the Rangers snapped their 3 game losing streak with a 6-4 win over Brad Radke and the Twins. Koronka improved to 4-1 on the season and the Rangers maintain a 1 game lead over Oakland in the AL West.

    Rangers make trade

    To Texas:
    Freddy Guzman OF
    Cesar Rojas RHP

    To San Diego:
    Vincent Sinisi 1B/OF
    John Hudgins RHP

Texas is trying to add a little speed I guess.
