Shinji Mori suffered a dislocated right shoulder while pitching in a minor league game Monday. He'll undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage.
That's not the news we were expecting. If the MRI discovers a torn labrum, Mori will almost certainly be done for the season. If not, perhaps he'll make it back to help out in a late-inning role. It's hardly a common injury for a pitcher to dislocate his shoulder while throwing, and we imagine it signals that he already had some damage to his shoulder capsule.
