    Delmon Young optioned to AAA

Devil Rays optioned outfielder Delmon Young to Triple-A Durham.
Young went 7-for-28 with a homer and a 4/2 K/BB ratio in 15 games. Even with Aubrey Huff seeing all of his time at third base, Young wasn't viewed as a candidate to make the team. He'll be better prepared after another two or three months at Durham.

Not a real surprise to anyone, but with the people taking him in fantasy baseball drafts that don't count minor league stats, this gives them a dead player on their team.

I am a little surprised to be honest. I thought he would get the call this time. Oh well, this means pitchers may have to fear him even more when he comes up after killing AAA pitching once more.

they have too many OFs...Crawford, Baldelli, Gathright, Gomes, Huff, and Hollins...someone would need to be traded.

I think that someone will have to be traded very soon. I know Young, Crawford, and Gathright make anice outfield. And Baldelli is not too shabby either. This team is deep in the young OF category. It could net them a lot in return in a trade.

So, what will Tampa Bay require for Gathright? I think if Boston wants him, Beckett, Papelbon, and Graffanino is their asking price

I think that close to MLB ready pitching will suffice. They are not too heavy in the SP side of things.

Neimann is still a few years away after having shouledr problems last year. I think Papelbon would be a good start if you ask me.

Young did not need to start the year off at the majors so no big shock. His numbers dropped off as he went to AAA so he needs more time. Gathright might be headed for the Marlins for some mid level prospects.
