The Rays got out to a good lead right away putting up three runs in the first, KK walked, Butler singled and Longoria homered.

In the third, KK singled, Butler and Longoria walked to load the bases, DeJesus grounded into a fielder's choice scoring KK, Kluber got out of the inning with just the one run, 4-0 Rays.

Erasmo Ramirez left the fourth with a groin injury. He had given up no runs, two hits and struck out three.

In the top of the 8th, with Ryan Webb now pitching for Cleveland, Kiermaier tripled, later, he attempted to score when Longo hit the ball, they caught him in a run down but Urshela dropped the ball and he got back safe to third, Longo ended up on second. Webb got out of the inning unscathed.

With Brandon Gomes pitching for the Rays Bourn walked, Urshela singled and Kipnis walked to load the bases. Lindor grounded into a fielder's choice, Bourn scored. That would be all they would get and Rays take second game 4-1.

Re: 2015 Tampa Bay Rays season

This was a pitching duel through the first half, the Rays were the only ones collecting hits but Kipnis made a great diving stop in the 5th off Souza Jr.

Colome had a perfect game going into the 6th when Bourn reached on an infield single. There continued to be no scoring until the final inning.

In the 9th Perez and Kipnis singled, an intentional walk to Brantley loaded the bases, fly ball off Murphy to Kiermaier, the throw caught and a bullet to home, Casili dropped the ball, Indians win 1-0, keep from getting swept. The first walk-off of the season for the Tribe.

Probably my least favorite managerial decision is the intentional pass no matter how many outs in the bottom of the ninth, it tends to bite you on the ass.

Colome went seven scoreless giving up just one hit, two walks and struck out four getting a no decision.

Anderson went 7.2 scoreless, giving up six hits, one walk and striking out four, also a no decision in his debut. He became the fourth Indian pitcher to go at leaat 7.2 innings in the ML debut (Scott Lewis Sept. 16, 2000, Luis Tiant July 19, 1964 and Ray Benge Sept. 26, 1925).

Kevin Jepsen took the loss, Cody Allen the win.

Kipnis extended his hitting streak to 16 games (longest active streak in the Majors) and his Progressive Field streak to 25, two shy of the record held by Elvis Andrus.

    Rays took the series 2-1.

Matt Andriese last pitched four innings of relief in a "bullpen game" last Wednesday at Nationals Park, the Rays won 5-0.

Drew Hutchison (6-1, 5.33 ERA) pitched 5.2 scoreless innings of an 8-0 victory over the Mets on Wednesday.

The Rays (40-31) have won six of seven so far this season from the Blue Jays (37-34) but Toronto has been surging. Starting with a win in the second game of a double header in DC on June 2nd, they had an 11 game win streak that was snapped on June 15th by the Mets. They split a four game set with them and lost over the weekend to the Orioles. The Rays have gone 14-6 in June. They have fared better on the road than at home this season. In the last 3 games the Jay's pitching staff has allowed 22 earned runs. TB has allowed 3.

Jose Bautista is 1-for-11 against TB this season with a two-run homer in Toronto's only win, Josh Donaldson is 11-for-28 with four RBI and not in the line-up being given a day off.

Evan Longoria is 10-for-21 against Toronto this season, and Steven Souza Jr. has two home runs.

Munenori Kawasaki replaces Ryan Goins in Monday night's line-up snapping his streak of 12 straight starts at first base.

The Rays are clinging to a one game lead in the AL East.

The Rays struck first in the first, Kiermaier led off with a single, stole second and went to third on a fly out off Longoria. KK scored on a single by DeJesus.

The Jays came right back in the second when Navarro led off with a double, went to third on a wild pitch and scored when Colabello grounded out.

In the Rays half Elmore walked, went to second when Rivera grounded out, to third o a wild pitch and scored on a single by KK. Longoria singled to score KK, Rays up 3-1.

In the third, Reyes homered to cut the lead 3-2.

In the fourth, Navarro homered to right for a 3-3 tie.

In the sixth, Bautista homered, Belisario relieved Andriese. Encarnación walked, Navarro singled, Colabello doubled in Encarnación. Carrera singled in Navarro, Colabello score don a ground out by Valencia, Jays take a 7-3 lead.

With Redmond pitching for the Jays in th seventh, Forsythe led off with a homer. Souza Jr. tripled, Rivera doubled him home, Rays cut the lead 7-5.

With Romero pitching for the Rays in the 8th, Carerra singled, Romero tried a pick off throw that sailed, Carrera ended up on third and scored on a single off Valencia. The Jays take first game 8-5.

Rays loaded the bases in the 8th coming away with nothing.

Hutchison went 5 innings giving up three runs on nine hits, two walks and struck out six for the win.

Andriese went 5.1 giving up four runs on five hits (three homers), no walks while striking out two for the loss.

It was the 500th victory for Jays manager John Gibbons, putting him second in franchise history behind Cito Gaston (894).

Steve Geltz retired the Jays in order during the ninth, extending his streak to 28 consecutive batters to set a new Rays' record previously held by Kyle Farnsworth with 26.

The game was delayed for a short period in the fourth when a banks of lights went out along the left-field line, crew chief Joe West allowed the game to continue without the lights after a three minute consult with the crew.

Asdrubal Cabrera has been frustrated at the plate, it boiled over when he tossed his and helmet and bat after a third strike call and was ejected by home plate umpire Kerwin Danley in the fifth. He left the locker room before it was opened to reporters. We will see if he gets disciplined, but while the pitch track showed that pitch could have gone either way, there were at least three strikes called to end Rays at bats when runners were on that were far off the plate during the game. This is why the players are going bat s*** (pun intended) this season.

Enny Romero was optioned back to Durham after the game.

Re: 2015 Tampa Bay Rays season

The Tampa Bay Lightning were in the house, well four of them, Ben Bishop, Alex Killorn, Brian Boyle and Braydon Coburn threw out the ceremonial first pitch(es) after taking BP with the Rays.Bishop hit four balls out to the stands.

The Rays got on the scoreboard in the second, Cabrera singled, then went to second on a wild pitch, Guyer singled sending him to the plate, 1-0.

Navarro homered to right for the 1-1 tie in the fifth for the first hit of the game by the Jays.

In the the Rays half of the inning, Kiermaier singled and went to second on a passed ball. Butler singled to score KK. Longoria walked, Forsythe was out when Pillar made an awesome catch but dropped the ball on the transfer, allowing Butler to score, 3-1 Rays.

In the seventh, Bautista walked and went to third when Navarro singled. Carrera reached second on an error by Elmore at first, Bautista scored, cutting the lead 3-2.

With Steve Delabar pitching for the Jay sin the 8th, Cabrera homered, 4-2 Rays.

Brad Boxberger took over in the 9th for the Rays gave up a homer to Encarnación, but ended the game getting Martin to strike out, Rays take second game 4-3. Series is tied 1-1.

Dickey went seven, gave up three runs on eight hits, three walks and struck out two for the loss.

Archer went eight, giving up two runs (one unearned) on three hits, one walk and struck out seven for the win. He now has a personal best winning streak of six. Though Boxberger allowed a homer in the 9th, he has 19 saves.

There was a challenge play in the first, Forsythe was ruled safe at first when it appeared that Encarnación was pulled off the base on a throw by Donaldson, but overturned on the replay to end the inning.

According to reports Brett Cecil has lost his closing role with the Jays, it may be handed to Roberto Osuna who struck out five over two innings in the 8-5 Jays win over the Ray in the first game Monday.

Injury/rehab report: Matt Moore will make what is hopefully his last rehab start on Friday for Durham and is expected back in the Rays rotation next week. Erasmo Ramirez is to have a bull pen session with a possible return by June 30th.

The Jays didn't get a hit off Karns until the sixth, a single for Pillar.

This was a duel and the Rays didn't get a base runner until the eight when Logan Forsythe beat out the throw by Josh Donaldson breaking up a perfect game by Toronto's Marco Estrada. The play was challenged but upheld in less than a minute of review. The play previously, Donaldson did an impression of Derek Jeter when he dove into the stands to catch a foul hit by DeJesus. (If I find a photo I'll post it cause it was awesome!) Estrada allowed only one other hit (a double by Kiermaier) before departing with two outs in the ninth.

The Rays had chances in the 9, 10 and 11th innings.

There was still no score until Chris Colabello homered off Brandon Gomes in the 12th inning, Jays win 1-0.

Estrada was a teammate of Evan Longoria at Long Beach State. He became the first pitcher to take a no-hitter into the eighth of consecutive starts since 1988, when Toronto's Dave Stieb did it.

    Jays take the series 2-1.

In the sixth, Butler singled, Longo doubled. DeJesus hit a sac fly scoring Butler. Porcello threw a wild pitch, Longo scored, tied 3-3.

Bullpens started taking over in the seventh, but at the end of 9 it was still 3-3.
