Re: Grieving Orioles @ Lagging Rays 9/2-9/4
I was a bit preoccupied this weekend trying to get updates on the condition of Lee Roy Selmon so just a summary of the series.
Price was dominate through the first half of the game striking out 11 and only giving up 1 hit on Friday, but things fell apart in the 7th. The O’s put up 3 due to a lead off single to Vlad, ill timed walks and singlesalong with defensive miscues. The O's BP shut the Rays out for the remainder of the game. O’s got the win 3-2.
Saturday’s game was one of the few not picked up by any TV coverage. Davis pitched very well. Zobrist was out of the game still hampered by the sore neck. Upton had his one offensive burst for the week with 5 RBIs in the game. Rays won 6-3.
Hellickson pitched a CG gem today, giving up just 1 run and 4 hits. The offense finally came through for him, Brignac with a bases clearing double and homers for SRod and Joyce. Rays won 8-1 taking the series.
Andy Sonnanstine was recalled during the series.
