    Today’s match ups

Price is 10-10 with a 3.76 ERA, he rebounded last Friday night from a terrible start with a very good one at Yankee Stadium, giving up just one run in 8 plus innings.

Lackey is 11-8, with a 6.13 ERA, he gave up 10 hits to the Mariners his last start but still got the win. He has been hot lately winning 6 consecutive decisions.

Casey Kotchman enters today’s fourth in the Majors in batting average.

Jacoby Ellsbury homered in both games Tues……the first Red Sox player to do that since Trot Nixon, on June 4, 2003.

Johnny Damon Damon got his 20th double of the season in Game 2 on Tuesday, he has 15 seasons of 20-plus two-base hits

Yesterday’s Triple play was the 30th in Sox history, first since July 1994.

As of now, Papi will not go to the DL but wear a boot and be evaluated in a few days.

Price went 8 innings of shut out pitching after the back to back CG by Shields and Niemann. The Rays held Boston’s explosive offense to just 3 hits in each game.
