Homerless Jays @ Traderless Rays 8/2-8/4

    Probables

    Romero VS Price

    Villanueva VS Shields

    Cecil VS Davis

The Blue Jays have won the past two series from the Orioles and Rangers, even with the home run drought of Bautista.

After losing 3 of 4 from the A’s, the Rays took the weekend series against the Mariners to come back home on a high note.

The Jays added a piece with the trade for Colby Rasmus and the Rays didn’t make a move until after the deadline with only a minor deal acquiring OF Matt Carson for cash from Oakland. The Rays also sent Mike Ekstrom back to Durham to make room for Juan Cruz being activated from the DL.

    Tonight’s match ups

Ricky Romero is 8-9 with a 3.08 ERA. He pitched a strong scoreless 8 1/3 innings against the O’s allowing 4 hits while fanning seven. He has thrown 15 quality starts in 21 outings this season and has 18 strikeouts over his last two games.

David Price is 9-9, with a 3.76 ERA. He has taken the lost in his last two games, in Oakland he allowed 4 runs on 7hits and gave up 4 walks.

Jose Bautista has gone a season high 14 games without a homer his longest drought in a couple seasons, don’t think it will last much longer though. New Jay Colby Rasmus started 0-12 with the team but got 2 hits on Sunday.

Ben Zobrist has a 12 game hitting streak, the last 7 days as he has hit .429 with 3 doubles, 3 homers, 9 RBI, a .500 OBP, and a .857 SLG.

Ricky seems to enjoy pitching out of jams, and I seem to enjoy watching it happen.
