    Rays Dan Johnson DFA'd

Rays designated first baseman Dan Johnson for assignment.
Hardly a surprise, as Tampa Bay's Opening Day first baseman was hitting .115 with one home run through his first 78 at-bats. Now 31 years old and the owner of just 215 major-league at-bats since the end of the 2007 season, Johnson could be at the end of the line.
Johnson is most likely going to clear waivers and return to the Rays if they'll have him back. Chris Carter should get a callup.

The Rays called up Ruggiano who once again is tearing it up in Durham.

This guy was suppose to have so much potential, especially with his power. He just seems like he cannot hit the breaking ball.

Sounds exactly like the lefthanded hitting version of Billy Ashley.

Glad Dan "not so much the man" decided to accept the assignment, hopefully he'll be back.
