Shields coming off an attempt at 3 CG’s is 2-1 with a 2.14 ERA and struck out a season high 12. Britton is 5-1 with 2.63 and he left his last start to have a callous removed from his middle finger but it is not expected to be a hindrance.

The Rays placed Jeff Niemann on the DL and called up OF Brandon Guyer and it appears he is slated to be in LF tonight.

Sam Fuld will get his first night off, he has been in a bit of a slump after his hot start. Another slumping player Reid Brignac is also out of the line up again.

Johnny Damon went up another rung on the hits list surpassing Steve Garvey for 75th (2,600) and is now tied at 57th with Mickey Vernon on the all time doubles list at 490.
