    Manny quits

Just heard this on the Yanks/Sox broadcast. Supposedly MLB contacted Manny about an issue with a drug policy and he informed them he will retire. You got to be fucking kidding me!

MLB must have caught him 'roiding again, so he chose to retire before they can suspend him for 100 games

I believe the suspension would be a full season. 100 games applies to a second amphetamine strike.

    Well, Hall of Fame?

I just got online today and BOOM! There it was, Manny fails drug test then retires. What a blow for the Rays chances of even competing! They have gotten off to a terrible start anyway and its not looking any better. Manny will joins the likes of Bonds, Clemens, Pettitte and Arod as having next to no chance of being a HOFer.

I thought the "you can't fire me, I quit!" scenario only happened in movies. Who knew.

He was informed that he was facing a 100 game suspension and decided not to deal with it again. No, he won't get voted into the hall, the voting tallies for Mac prove once you have been tainted you can kiss your chances goodbye.

The great Casey Kotchman has taken his place. If I'm Andrew Friedman, I'm call the Dbacks to see what it will take to get Russell Branyan.

    It's just Manny being Manny.

Too bad he's a great hitter when he's right.

    Rays need Branyan's power.

I wanted Branyan on the Cubs bench.

Unfortunately the Cubs brass already spent all of their money.
