Shocked Jeremy Hellickson is a monster

First pitcher in the modern era (since 1920) to pitch 6+ innings and allow less than three hits in each of his first 3 major league appearances. Tampa just keeps churning out stud after stud from that minor league system. And he may not even be in their playoff rotation with Price-Garza-Niemann-Big Game James.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I was going to post something about this as well. This kid can deal. Like you said, Tampa just keeps producing stud after stud and its amazing. It'll be interesting to see what Tampa does to fill the void of Crawford and possibly Pena as well this off season. Don't let him pitch too many innings Tampa!

Hellickson may not be in their rotation but you better believe he will be in that bullpen come October. The Rays have more pitching just like him in the farm is what's crazy. I only pray they can somehow find a way to lock up Crawford (or the Giants sign him). Definitely don't want to see him in a Red Sox or Yankees uniform.

They won't be able to lock up Crawford. No way. But you are right; it's scary how much young starting pitching they have coming up/already have.

"Big Game" James hasn't been so big this season. Even though he has experience, he's been too inconsistent and lately, too horrible to put in a playoff rotation.

    If they make the playoffs.

If Big Game James doesn’t get his s*** together soon, he may find himself in the BP. Sonny is pitcheing pretty well and Hellboy (so far) is far more impressive than Davis, so I really wouldn’t be surprised if he stays depending on where the Rays are in the standings, when Niemann and Davis come off the DL.

As for CC, if Sternberg isn’t blowing air up the fans rumps, he claims he has the money to give him, especially now that they didn’t really spend a lot at the trade deadline. If CC walks it isn’t like we got nothing, Jennings is likely to be his successor.

If I were the Rays I would try my best to trade Upton, replace him with Jennings and keep Crawford.

That is what I wanted LAST season, when Upton was fussing about money.

According to John Sterling the Rays have an outstanding young SP by the name of Andrew Hellickson.

Not to be confused with Jeremy Sonnastine.

I think Wade Price has potential to be a future Cy Young

Yeah I heard Sterling talk about him today as well. Wade and Andrew are gonna be a sick duo.
