The biggest difference was for Burrell that he's playing everyday, playing defense instead of DH 4 times a game. Outside of baseball it seems like a small thing, but in reality its huge, physically and psychologically.

Pat Burrell(notes) hit a three-run homer to back Tim Lincecum(notes), and the first-place San Francisco Giants remained two games ahead of San Diego in the NL West with a 3-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday night.

I was watching last night. I get the whole (as Pat was quoted by the announcer), " I just never felt a part of the game, waiting an hour to an hour and a half to get in"........but couldn't help yelling the word bastard!

He wasn't doing anything for the Rays, so in hindsight, it was a good move by them and of course, a good move for San Francisco.

Also, I had no idea he drew over a 100 walks in 2007, and then in 2008.
