Give him one day in a big league uniform in a big league stadium. Write his name in the lineup, right field, center field, left field, Jon Weber doesn’t care. Just broadcast the game on national TV. That is Weber’s only request.
“I just want to be able to play and people back home say, ‘That little so-and-so, he made it. I can’t believe it.’ Hopefully, it happens,” Weber said.
This is Weber’s 11th season of pro ball, 18th if you include the seven years he’s played winter ball in Mexico. He’s played in more than 1,000 games when you combine the two. He’s never been on a 40-man roster. He’s never come close to being called into the manager’s office in some Triple-A city and told to get packing, he’s headed to the major leagues.
