Rays Are the Rays a one hit wonder or will it be consistent?

Are the Rays going to be a consistent contender over the next decade in the A.L. East or is this year a flash in the pan? They definitely have the talent, but can ownership keep the players and make the moves to keep them going? The trade dead line this year left much to be desired, although it could be argued that not much was needed to be done, based off of what was available anyway. I think the can pull it off, its up to the management though. They are going to be lost at the draft without that number one pick.

They'll be consistent. Longoria is signed till forever, Price will join the staff soon and there's the off chance Baldelli will be sort of healthy! They still need another bat, Gomes was demoted, Floyd is 80, and Eric Hinske is Eric Hinske.

It would be really scary if the Rays had an owner that would spend like 60 or 70 mil on a payroll...they'd be impossible to beat.

They still got more young talent on the way so they will be in the top 3 to stay

Hinske keeps driving in runs but they do need a more consistent bat than the Floyd/Hinske combo. The Rays will be consistently better than they were before because the front office finally realize pitching is the way to go. Kazmir, Shields, Garza and Price is a damn good young core to build an offense behind. Crawford wants to stay and management has been spending the big bucks in the past two years so I can;t find a reason why they would be a one hit wonder.

As has been stated before, another bat would be a great addition to the team. Imagine if Baldelli developed into a power threat (I know, I know) and was a threat in the middle of the line-up? Plus the addition of all the others on the team now that will develope, and you have a winner right there.

They do need to find a closer for the future. Balfour-Reyes-Percival won't last forever.

No doubt in my mind, they'll be consistent.
