Finally a 1-2 punch

Scoot Kazmir and James Shields finally gives this team a 1-2 punch and boy they have needed it. They have a combined 83 K's in 87 IP but for some reason they don't score for these guys. Shields had a rough rookie year but has bounced back so far this year to provide a real #2 type pitcher. This team has a ton of offense and needs to trade a bat for another pitcher to compete in the East. Also, Al Reyes has been extremely solid at closer which they haven't had since Baez left.

Shields betters his record to 4-0 by throwing a CG giving up three runs. His ERA is now 3.13 He has 69 K's in 83 IP and just keeps on impressing. The D-Rays could find a better end of that rotation with a trade.

I would sarcastically suggest that the Devil Rays re-acquire Mark Hendrickson, but even he is staying put as long as the Dodgers have no readily available options to replace him in the rotation.

totally agree with you reefer! It is nice to see the Rays get some talent in the pitching department. They should and probably will deal a bat, maybe two for pitching. Baldelli probably will be the first to go?

Baldelli is a good possibility but right now he is hurt. They are shopping Dukes and Gomes is another possibility.
