Update: The Yankees may be interested in acquiring Hendrickson in trade from the Devil Rays, the St. Petersburg Times reports.
Recommendation: Whether or not this rumor is true, the fact that it's even out there clearly shows how desperate the Yankees are to shore up their starting rotation. Hendrickson is doing his part to increase trade interest; his ERA of 3.81 this season puts him in the top 20 in the AL, and so far in June, he's posted an ERA of 3.58 and a 1.25 WHIP in five starts. Hendrickson likely would rate only a second-tier prospect in return, which is good for the Yankees, as that's all they have (at best) in their depleted farm system.
