Longoria signed, will start next week

Evan Longoria, who took a $3 million signing bonus to sign on draft day, is scheduled to begin his pro career at Single-A Visalia next week.
The Rays say Longoria will see some time at second and shortstop, but third base is where his future lies.

There was no reason to risk a prolonged negotiation, and 3 million ain't half bad...
