Devil Rays placed LHP Casey Fossum on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 25, with a left groin strain.
Fossum started Wednesday despite the injury suffered in his previous start, but he struggled in a no-decision versus the Blue Jays. Jamie Shields will take his rotation spot for at least the next two weeks.

I remember when Fossum was a Red Sox. He got a full pre-season piece by ESPN, huge hype for the small lefty who threw some major heat. And then he wasn't good and traded for Schilling. Kind of tough to see him struggling on the Rays...
